Even in the middle of a cold night, coming home from a six-month deployment to waiting friends and family members can warm the hearts and souls.

Twelve airmen with the 436th Security Forces Squadron found this out early Sunday morning at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

The airmen deployed in July and provided flightline security, entry control, law and order and vehicle searches at their deployed location, among other duties, according to an Air Force article.

Three members forward deployed for 90 days as well.
