Pfc. Joshua J. Stewart, 20, of Sutter Creek, California, was identified as the Marine who went missing Sunday afternoon in the waters off Tumon Bay.

The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit released his name Tuesday afternoon.

Stewart is a member of the Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, based in Okinawa, Japan. He was on liberty in Guam, the release states.

The search for Stewart is ongoing as of Tuesday afternoon.

The Marine went missing around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Guam Fire Department spokesman Firefighter Kevin Reilly said the swimmer was one of five who went over the reef in front of the Dusit Thani Resort Guam.

The search entered the third day Tuesday. Military and local emergency responders are searching for him from the shore, air and waters.

The Marines from Okinawa were scheduled to begin a training exercise in Guam and elsewhere in the region beginning Monday, according to previous statement by the Marine Corps.
