A Marine aviator will face a court-martial for allegedly abusing his wife, committing adultery, and trying to cover up the whole affair with threats and blackmail.

Capt. Jameson P. Hustek, an MV-22 Osprey pilot with the 3rd Marine Air Wing in Miramar, California, was informed Oct. 2 of the charges against him, but is contesting the whole thing, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

In 2015 Hustek allegedly bent his wife’s wrist, threw her and struck her head on multiple occasions. He allegedly also held a knife to her throat, according to a charge sheet obtained by the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The Marine pilot is further accused of a string of affairs across multiple states from Nashville, Tennessee to Florida, from 2012-2015. The Nashville affair was described by Marine officials in the charge sheet as “unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman.”

Marine officials contend Hustek tried to cover up his crimes through threats and blackmail.

In one incident, the aviator forwarded a text to himself “to keep as leverage” over his wife, he told an anonymous witness.

On another occasion, he allegedly threatened to harm a witness. On another, he offered money to a witness in exchange for cooperation, according to documents obtained by the San Diego Union-Tribune through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Marine officials at 3rd MAW would not provide comment on the allegations calling it “inappropriate” while the case is still pending and necessary to “maintain the integrity of the military judicial system.”

Hulstek is still serving on active-duty, with a court-martial slated for May 7-11.
