The 2014 Warrior Games kicked off on Sunday at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs with over 200 athletes from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Special Operations Command marching into the gymnasium followed by each representatives from each service branch passing a torch through the room. Athletes and spectators watched a video feed as the torch was handed off to retired Marine Cpl. Paul Schaus and retired Army Staff Sgt. Rico Roman, both members of the US Paralympic Sled Hockey team, who lit the cauldron over the USOTC. The competition started shortly afterwards with sitting volleyball matches. Air Force won both their matches, Navy and Marine Corps each went 1-1 and Special Operations Command fell 0-2. Check back daily for more from the 2014 Warrior Games!
