Troy Storch from Midwest Industries took a few minutes to show us a new rail that is getting ready to hit the shelves. The pre-existing MI-17 is one that becomes common in Law Enforcement circles, mainly because its affordable, does the job, and is installed and removed the same way that you do your old plastic handguards. Cheap and functional is always a favorite, especially when you are buying gear out of your own pocket.
The new MI-17 rail is slimmer than the model it replaces, extends back to mate with the flattop upper receiver, and gives front and rear QD sling sockets. This new model also has cutouts to ensure it will work with most piston systems. Troy promised he would get one out to us soon so we could kick it around and do some shooting with it.
