The Trump administration is adding another militarized zone to the southern U.S. border to support border security operations.
The activation comes as part of the Corps' Force Design 2030 recalibration toward agile logistics in the contested island chains of the Pacific.
Service members on ships in the Caribbean as well as National Guard members deployed to cities within the U.S. will get their turkey, too.
Those who will remain will continue to stay off the streets amid court battles over their domestic mission.
