Not in the market for a single-shot revolver?

Not so fast.

Colt has brought modified its classic Flattop Target Model, a Single Action Army that served from 1890 to 1898. The new model, called the Frontier, has added to the flattop design an adjustable rear sight and target-ready ramp style front sight. The Frontier comes in .357 Mag, .44 Special and .45 Colt and three barrel lengths: 4.75-inch (10.25 overall), 5.5-inch (11 overall) and 7.5-inch (13 overall).

I was able to shoot the .44 Special. It was the last weapon I shot at the range, and quite possibly my favorite. You may not be packing this thing inside your ACUs, but at $1,300 it is a worthy purchase  for the gun enthusiast. The walnut stocks seem to caress the hand as the smooth action and modest kick make this an easy and pleasurable shoot.

And for the hardcore Colt fans, you don't want to miss the limited edition 175th Anniversary Colt Single Action Army Revolver. The $1,580 revolver comes in a black powder-style frame and is decorated with 24-karat plating. Only 175 will be produced in each barrel length, so get order yours while they last.
