TYR Tactical's new mag pouch holds just about any mag you've got. Single stack 1911. Double stack Beretta. Switch between them without pulling gear off your PALS platform. Just stick the mags in and cinch the cord lock to your suite the desired level of retention. The over-the-top retention strap can be removed if you don't need it. Internally sewn magnets and contact-grip material secure the mag when retention strap is not being used for a smooth draw. They are $30 over at TYR's webstore and come in black, tan, green and MultiCam.
The adjustable retention system reminds me a little of the HSG Taco pouch system. Similar concept, very different execution. There may be differences in retention, weight and strength; but I can't say what they are since I haven't had either in my hands. Bottom line, it's good to have choices.
