The event included a tribute to Prince William County Police Officer Ashley Marie Guindon, who was killed Feb. 27 on her first day of official duty. Guindon, who served in the Marine Corps Reserves, died while responding to a domestic disturbance that also injured two other police officers. About 150 police, first responders, and active and former military members ran in honor of Guindon.
Guindon's aunt, Joanna Guindon, participated in the race and other members of Guindon's family attended the event.
