Many people get into careers that they end up hating, ie) this guy. To avoid this, simply research the career and career field you are hoping to enter into when you applying for schools. You want to go to a school that has your desired field and can help you achieve your career goals. You don't want to be at a college you hate. You want to be these kids in the picture, but times ten. You want an enjoyable experience that you can look back on for years. However, if you choose a school you don't like or pick a school on a whim you probably won't get the experience you want. Before applying to any school research its reputation it's majors, extra circulars and anything else that is important to you, including nightlife.(Gerber86/Getty Images)
Tuition Assistance or GI Bill benefits may not cover all necessary expenses associated with attending school full-time. ‘Get the Most of Your GI Bill Education Benefit’ and consider other options provided through Federal Student Aid such as College Work Study, grants, and student loans.College can be very expensive, so make sure you know how you plan to pay for it before you start, and before being overwhelmed with student loans. Ask college friends, about their experience and see what tips and advice they have. They can give you an inside scoop that your research can't. Additionally, you should contact the college or university’s Veteran Office / Veteran Alumni Association to connect with service members who have been through the process.(Kin Cheung/AP)
