Tim Kennedy's return to the UFC cage was up in the air for only a matter of hours. Now, it's landed -- in Toronto.

The former active-duty sniper and current member of the Texas Army National Guard will face Rashad Evans on Dec. 10 at UFC 206 in Toronto. Evans was pulled from Saturday's scheduled bout with Kennedy at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden for an undisclosed medical issue.

While the card may not pack the power of the promotion's debut in New York City, it will feature a light heavyweight title fight between champ Daniel Cormier and top contender Anthony "Rumble" Johnson in the main event.

MMAJunkie.com and other MMA media outlets reported the rescheduled fight Wednesday. The UFC has yet to update its online UFC 206 card. It will be Kennedy's first fight in more than two years.

Marine veteran Liz Carmouche will fight in a preliminary bout at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, making her one of the first women to step into the cage in the self-billed "World's Most Famous Arena." She's also fought in the UFC's first women's bout, losing to its first female champion, Ronda Rousey.
