It's still Military Family Month, proclaimed by President Obama and celebrated by many in a variety of ways.

One senator and his staff are taking the time to highlight individual families this month.

Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., is giving shout-outs to Oklahoma military families on his Facebook page, as well as on Twitter and Instagram. He's already highlighted the Stones, a Navy reservist family at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant; the Ortiz family at Altus Air Force Base; and the Hodge family at Fort Sill, complete with photos.

For example, he notes that Ashley Hodge, wife of Capt. Jesse E. Hodge at Fort Sill, is involved in a number of volunteer activities at the base, and that their baby Luke was born while her husband was deployed to combat operations.

"I am very proud of my husband and everything he has done in his military career," Ashley Hodge wrote in Inhofe's Facebook post. "It can be difficult at times while he is away, but I know that what he is doing is keeping our family and many others safe. I keep busy just helping out wherever there is a need, and hope to pass the value of selflessness along to our son as he grows older."

Next in the spotlight will be an Oklahoma National Guard family.
