It may only be the first day of March, but it’s time to start planning for October. Registration for the 2018 Marine Corps Marathon opened today at noon for active duty and reserve service members.
Military members have until March 14 to grab one of the 3,000 spots set aside for Active Duty/Reserve runners in this year’s marathon. Service members will receive a special discounted price of $144.50 per runner.
Runners who deferred their entry last year can also register today, as can individuals who have finished the race five or more times, and are members of the MCM Runners Club. For everyone else, the lottery opens at noon on March 21 and continues through March 28.
The Marine Corps Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the U.S., bringing 30,000 runners from across the world to Washington, D.C., each year. This year’s race will take place on Sunday, October 28.
