SKD Tactical is upping the configurable chest rig game with its Brigandine SYSTEMA. It's a massively configurable plate carrier system that can run as a bare bones 11 ounce plate carrier or decked-out as an integrated chest rig solution. The Brigandine was field tested by the Albuquerque Police Department.

The system is based on the "Brig" plate carrier. The plate pockets are specifically sized for popular plates for a perfect fit. You can order the pocket for small through extra large E-SAPI, TAP Gamma or Velocity Systems ICW plates.

The carrier has a number of unique features including a sewn-in cummerbund, Velcro strips to attach ventilation spacers or soft armor backer panels, lower should strap attachment points and spacer mesh in the straps for improved comfort.

The "Brig" PC was designed along side its new "Brig" chest rig that will be offered in several configurations.

The standalone chest rig has a flat field of PALS webbing that you populate with your own pouches. It features a G-Hook attachment for low-profile hook-up to the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps can run in an X-configuration, or as an H-configuration with an optional adapter. The other models feature three or four sewn-in pockets set up to run as ESSTAC mag shingles using a Kydex wedge system for magazine retention.

Mating the Brig PC to the Brig chest rig uses wide swaths of Velcro for a secure attachment. There are also backup G-Hooks that hook directly into the PC. The front of the chest rigs mag shingle is covered in loop Velcro and serves as the attachment point for the PC's cummerbund. Slick.

There's a lot to take in with this system, so just take some time to watch the video. There is some pretty innovative stuff going on in Systema. For more info visit www.skdtac.com.
