Does the new Mega Arms 5.56 MKM look familiar? It certainly should, you can think of this as the little brother to the .308 Mega Arms MKM MA-TEN which is also a two piece upper receiver and handguard which when assembled resembles a monolithic upper receiver. The two piece assembly allows for lighter weight, interchangeable lengths, easier assembly, more precise machining, easier cleaning under the handguards, and replacement of rails in event of damage. This rail and receiver combo is aircraft aluminum and anodized a deep black. A quick glance lets us see this is a keymod rail system, and as with all keymod rails each accessory from other manufacturers will fit the slots.
Think of this as a quick, first look. We haven't got the weights, but we know the set up will be available in four lengths: 14" extended rifle length for $485 MSRP, 12" rifle length $462, MSRP 9" mid-length $431 MSRP, and 7" carbine length for $400 MSRP. We will update once we have finished building this up, tried it on a bunch of receivers, and have the rest of the stats for you, until then, enjoy the pictures.
