Commissaries will be open for normal operating hours on Wednesday, Dec. 5, unless the installation is closed, even though the federal government offices will be closed in observance of a national day of mourning for the late President George H.W. Bush.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order to close federal offices and excuse federal employees from duty on Dec. 5.

Bush, the 41st president, died on Nov. 30 at age 94. The national day of mourning coincides with tributes and services planned to honor Bush in Washington, D.C.

Defense Commissary Agency officials advise customers to check their store’s web page before shopping to see if the store is open Wednesday.
