1776: Col. Henry Knox's "noble train of artillery" — guns that he had moved overland from Fort Ticonderoga — arrived at Cambridge, Massachusetts. From there, Maj. Gen. George Washington deployed them to compel British Lt. Gen. Thomas Gage to evacuate Boston in March.
