Daniel Defense has been awarded military contracts both for the US, and for the UK.  They continued forward by moving from being an accessory manufacturer, into being a complete weapon manufacturer and went so far as to buy their own Cold Hammer Forged Barrel machines.  The next step was OEM work for other companies, and with their CHF barrels being highly sought after, it was a natural evolution.

According to Jay Duncan, the next step for Daniel Defense is branching out from the Military and Law Enforcement market and expanding into the hunting realm. Ambush Firearms is owned by Daniel Defense, but Jay wanted people to understand that Daniel Defense is the tactical side of the house.  Ambush Firearms is sticking with the non-LE/ MIL angle, and brings their weapons to a new of shooters, namely, the hunting crowd.

Jay said that the initial offerings were in 6.8 caliber, and would increase with other calibers in the future.  Shown below in camo, these are also available in the more traditional black.  The handguard will be a stand alone item for people who are interested in a less "tactical" free floating rail.
