Last year at SHOT, R4 Evolution introduced the ODS (optimized duty sight), and this year has teamed up with Mepro and released an improved model as the R4E.

If you aren't familiar with the sights, they were designed by former Army Special Forces veterans and feature an unusual geometry as well as vertical and horizontal lines that shooters will find themselves instinctively centering. This instinctive alignment means faster target acquisition upon presentation and faster reacquisition during firing. The shape of the rear sight acts as a point of contact for a pocket or any other surface or edge one might use to rack the slide back during one-handed operation of the pistol.

The front sight dot is tritium, and as of this year, with the redesignation to R4E from Mepro, the sight alignment lines are tritium as well. As of now, the R4E sights are only available for Glocks, but additional models are in the works. MSRP for a complete set is $189.
