On Sunday, Marine Corps Times Deputy News Editor Bethany Crudele and Marine Staff Sgt. Jeremy Boutwell will be two of the 30,000 registered runners competing in the Marine Corps Marathon here in Washington, D.C.

Boutwell, 27, was wounded during a 2004 IED attack in Iraq and was medically retired from the Marine Corps in July. The Texas native is blind in one eye and suffers from chronic back and muscle pain from leg injuries. The pair are running on a Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors Run & Remember team.

Bethany has been blogging weekly about his preparations for the race — and hers — over on Battle Rattle. Check it out.

And good luck to everyone running this weekend. If you want so send pictures or updates about your Marine Corps Marathon, send 'em here or tweet us @PT365.
