Piexon's JPX4 is a four-shot, liquid OC pepper pistol. The gun is loaded with four cartridges. Each is a piston-driven syringe that expels 400k SHU OC liquid in a focused jet at 320 feet per second. The maximum range of the stream is about 23 feet, with the spread reaching about 2 feet wide at that distance. Minimum safe distance is 5 feet. Any closer and you'll be injecting OC, rather than applying it.
The benefit of the fast-moving stream of OC is that it can be used effectively in windy and even rainy conditions when a standard OC spray would be nearly useless. The JPX is not a firearm and can be carried any place OC is legal. The JPX is available in two versions, JPX-4 CP (compact) and JPX4 LE (full size). The compact size has a short grip and costs $399. The full size adds a full grip and integral aiming laser for $499. OC canisters are $10 each.
