Are all the GPS fitness watches on the market making your head spin? With so many choices, how do you decide which one is best for you, your sport and your wallet? We looked at six watches — from Garmin's perennial favorites to new additions from Suunto, Magellan and Soleus.

(And yes, we've seen this brand new addition from Garmin. And yes, we want one. We'll see if we can get our hands on one to review soon.)

We'll be posting extended reviews of each throughout the next week or so. First up: Suunto's Ambit, our pick for best splurge. Look for this one tomorrow.

Review: Suunto's sleek, shiny Ambit GPS watch and its 50 — yes 50 — hours of battery

Review: Garmin's Forerunner 310XT multisport GPS watch is the best of many worlds

Review: Timex's Run Trainer GPS wtach -- great for data nerds

There were clear winners for the best splurge — the Ambit — and best budget buy. But we haven't gotten our hands on Magellan's Switch Up, so we hate to declare a multisport winner yet. Check back for our choice.

We also picked our favorite GPS fitness apps: Garmin Fit and Endomondo, both for iOS and Android. Look for those soon, too.

Happy miles, fit friends.
