New Bags: The new Khard 30 ($359-$419) and Khard 45 ($459-$519) are streamlined, structured packs offering several access points using a single, ingenious wrap-around zipper. The main compartment is set up to accept Velcro secured storage cubes for medical supplies or other cargo. Compatible cubes will be available from other companies such as Blue Force Gear and at least one other well-known tactical nyloneer that will be announced soon. The structured sides offer protection for the contents on all sides, whether the cargo is held in organizing cubes or not. We are working on a review of the Khard series, the Khard 45 shown above setup as medic pack. We can say the pack has a lot going for it. The Covert series of bags ($199-$229) look like they can take a beating in the field while not attracting much attention while checking in on a commercial flight.
New apparel: The super lightweight Alpha LT jacket ($499) will be available in Wolf and the Atom LT ($269) will be available in MutliCam. this year. We’ve covered the Talos LT Halfshell in our review. The Mattick Drysock LT ($139) is a Gore-Tex, 3-layer, seam-sealed sock that will keep your feet dry as you traverse irrigation ditches and monsoon puddles.
New Personal Protection: Since the launch of the popular H-150 riggers belt, we’ve heard rumor of a set of leg loops that would attach. Those leg loops are now revealed as the IE-70 Riggers Leg Loop and they do turn the riggers belt into an emergency harness for $29. The Riggers Belt and leg loop setup is also available as a package in the $139 E-220 Rigger’s Harness.
