ALBANY, N.Y. — Authorities say a couple from central New York have been sentenced to prison and ordered to repay almost $500,000 for spending an elderly military veteran’s money on gambling and their other personal expenses.
The attorney general’s office says David Tetro, of Minetto, has a sentence of 6-1/3 to 19 years in state prison and an order to pay $236,000 in restitution.
His wife, Morgan Tetro, last week received a sentence of 7-1/3 to 23 years in prison and an order to pay $239,000 in restitution.
The couple were convicted at trial of grand larceny, accused of stealing from the 85-year-old retired Air Force colonel over several years after gaining her trust and access to her money.
Minetto is about 30 miles north of Syracuse.
