Your Military

Best drill instructor moments captured on camera

Spit splattering off your face. Sweating, feeling fear, training hard and choking back laughter, or worse — tears. These are all things that connect service members together during their first days in the military known as basic military training.

The tough lessons of BMT stay with you until the end. And if not, there are always some great drill sergeant one liners — or monologues — floating in your memories forever.

And veterans have been posting these on the "Awesome S--- My Drill Sergeant Said" Facebook page and many other community pages out there. Scott Ross fondly remembers: "Son, I'd put my boot in your ass but I don't want to give you a headache." Cory Shellman's favorite was, "Give your soul to Jesus, because your ass belongs to ME!"

And the list goes on and on.

As you recall your best BMT days (or worst, whichever), here are some photos and videos of some of the best drill sergeant and military training instructor faces slash outbursts out there (and yes, "Full Metal Jacket" counts).

...unless you're this guy.

Saturday Night Live counts, too.

It's all sometimes scarier than Halloween itself.
