OK this time it goes to the top –Both Freedom Group CEO Bob Nardelli and Freedom Group Chairman John Blystone have stepped down from their positions.
According to FGI’s press release, Nardeli left FGI to focus his attention on the growth of his own investment and consulting company, XLR-8, while Blystone suffers a demotion and takes on a different role at one of FGI’s companies.
Two executives rarely roll out at the same time, so I’m willing to bet there’s more to this story than an amicable parting of ways. Leadership change at this level signals a sea change. If Cerberus can find a leader to unite the diverse companies in that portfolio, FGI could make products that few, if any, companies in the US could produce.
