BOULDER, Colo. — A former Air Force cadet has been sentenced to jail and intensive probation for raping a fellow cadet at a party in Boulder.
The Daily Camera reports that on Tuesday Daniel Ryerson was sentenced to six months in Boulder County Jail and 10 years to life on sex-offender intensive supervised probation.
Ryerson was convicted in October of sexual assault on a victim incapable of appraising her condition. He was acquitted of sexual assault on a physically helpless victim and second-degree kidnapping.
Prosecutors say Ryerson and the victim attended parties in Boulder in November 2014. The victim got drunk and prosecutors say Ryerson took her into a bathroom and raped her during a party.
Air Force Academy officials say Ryerson will receive a dishonorable discharge from the Air Force.
