The Navy Midshipmen will have a few extra days to celebrate an upset victory that earned them the last spot in this week's Associated Press Top 25 college football poll.

Navy's road game at East Carolina, originally set for Thursday night, has been moved to Nov. 19 because of flooding concerns in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, according to news releases posted Monday at both schools' athletics websites. Kickoff time and TV coverage plans have yet to be announced; Thursday night's game had been set to air on ESPN.

The Mids improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the American Athletic Conference with a 46-40 win over the Houston Cougars on Saturday in Annapolis, Maryland. It marked the first victory by a Navy team over a squad ranked in the AP's top 10 since downing then-No. 2 South Carolina in 1984.

It also gave the the Brigade of Midshipmen an unexpected extension to an already long weekend:

The Cougars fell from No. 6 to No. 13 in the latest rankings. The Mids earned the 25th spot in the AP Poll but didn't make the cut in the Amway Coaches Poll, which ranks Houston 12th.

Navy next hosts Memphis, another conference rival, on Oct. 22. Should the Mids continue their winning ways and reach the AAC title game set for Dec. 3, Navy will play every weekend from Oct. 22 through the Dec. 10 showdown with Army in Baltimore.
