Echo Nine Three has three sling mounts for the AK, and this is the second one. V-2 can be configured to work on either side of the pistol grip, and the sling mounting point is placed just far enough back that it doesn't interfere or run against your hand. Swapping the mounting plate from right to left handed is as easy as flipping the plate over, and installing underneath the grip. Installation works the same way that it did on V-1, which is to remove the pistol grip screw, pull off the grip, drop the V-2 plate in, and put the grip and screw back in.
This mount is heavy duty parkerized steel, well machined, and easy to install, just like its siblings. Why would you want this version over V-1? Different people like different things, and as Yoda would say, there is no right, and no wrong, just what works. This would fall in the category of what works, and for $19.95, it does it nicely.
