Browe gave us a look at their new 300 AAC specific reticle that will appear in their 4x32 BROWE Combat Optic (BCO). The BDC reticle features a horseshoe & dot with holdovers shown for super- and subsonic loads. The subsonic side is based on a 220 grain flying fist (perhaps Sierra's HPBT Matchking?), while the supersonic side favors the Barnes TAC-TX shredder.

The reticle is going to be familiar to anyone that's seen Leupold's Mark 4 MR/T. There are slight differences, though. The ranging subtensions are based on 19" widths instead of 18". I'm guessing that these subtensions are set up to measure distances based on an adult male's shoulder measurements. Perhaps Browe thinks you'll be engaging poorly tailored targets?

It's a useful to have a both BDCs, since the whole idea of 300 AAC is to be able to run fast or slow rounds through the same gun without messing with adjustable gas ports. The reticle suits the platform; quiet on the way in and hot, heavy and loud on the way out.

moreFrom the manufacturer:

The 4x32 BCO AAC .300 Blackout reticle is based on the popular horseshoe and dot style reticle and provides a bullet drop compensated (BDC) reticle for both the subsonic and supersonic ammunition. The 7 MOA horseshoe has a 5 MOA inner dimension and provides an illuminated 2 MOA wide ring for quick target acquisition. The center 1 MOA dot gives the operator that precision shot and was designed to be zeroed at 100m with the supersonic round or 25m with the subsonic round. For long range precision, the 4x32 BCO AAC .300 Blackout reticle features a BDC reticle that ranges out to 900m for the supersonic and out to 400m for the subsonic. The horizontal stadia lines represent 19" at the indicated ranges. The reticle also offers a horizontal mil scale that has an overall length of 30 mils, with indicators every 5 mil.

Color options:

The 4x32 BCO AAC .300 blackout reticle is available in four color options including amber, blue, green, or red. As standard with all the 4x32 BCO's the illumination is controlled automatically with the BCO Target Light Sensor Technology. The target light transmission is measured and automatically adjusts the reticle to the proper illumination level. The 4x32 BCO also features a manual override if a consistent light level is required.
