The Modular Adjustable Tactical Vest from Tactical Tailor is an update to the tac-vest like I wore in Desert Storm. They were functional then, especially the ones which weren't general issue LBVs, and they are functional now. There is no doubt the IBA variants have saved lives, but there is also no doubt that armor isn't worn all the time. State side security, is an obvious shoe in for tactical vests, but so are some outside the wire operations.
The MAT-V uses airmesh material for better breathing, and inside the back of the vest is a hydration pouch which will hold a 3 liter bladder. Hooks and a zipper secure the bladder inside. The front has dual pocket for gloves, maps, and other small objects. The buckles can be removed or replaced (in the field) if broken, which is a nice feature if you aren't able to rip it apart and resew it yourself. Modular webbing (in MC coloring) is used, and there are belt hangers so your pistol belt stays secure to your vest. The sides are adjustable, and the shoulders are both padded and adjustable. These will be available in Black, Coyote Brown and MultiCam. Prices are $165 for solid colors, and $180 for MultiCam.
