We were able to get behind a handful of precision rifles during SHOT Show's range day. One of my favorites was this Accuracy International's AX Short Action .308's on display in SureFire's shooting lane. The SureFire SOCOM 762-RC suppressor balanced well on the rifle's 20" barrel, offsetting the chassis build and making a very stable platform that made it easy to track shots with the Bushnell XRS 4.5-30x50 scope.
The rifle has a 20" Bartlein 1:10" twist barrel, a right hand folding stock and a fully adjustable two-stage trigger. The rifle at SureFire's booth was only one of three that are in country ahead of AI's shipment of rifles to the US scheduled to hit the ground next month. Expect the AI AX Short Action .308 to run somewhere in the neighborhood of $6500 without optics.
