Starting with promotion reviews in October, the Air Force and Space Force will let captains, majors and lieutenant colonels apply to temporarily skip consideration to move up the career ladder if they want to try another opportunity first.
“Diverse backgrounds, beliefs and experiences make us a stronger workforce,” said acting Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs John Fedrigo.
The Air Force is adding two new groups to its slate of teams working to create equitable policies for minority employees, this time focusing on the LGBTQ and native communities.
