A first-year program offered at some California community colleges is designed to help veterans transition from military to civilian life, emphasizing skills needed to succeed in college, as well as more complex issues such as anger management and post-traumatic stress.
Participants will be placed into either a national or local program offering career services to veterans with disabilities, and researchers will follow them over a three-year period to track outcomes such as earnings, employment and well-being.
