After a 55-year wait to receive the Medal of Honor, Capt. Larry Taylor saw his actions recognized with the nation's highest valor award.
The first American to receive a Medal of Honor for heroism during the Vietnam War died on Jan. 25 at 89 years old.
He would deploy five times to Vietnam between 1961 and 1970.
The hangar was one of two built in 1942 for the U.S. Navy in the city of Tustin, about 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
