DAYTON, Ohio — A commander at Ohio's largest military base says there are plans to revise and increase security following a recent breach in which a man drove past a guard after being told he did have the proper credentials, and then entered a building.
The unauthorized entry on Nov. 24 led to some employees being evacuated at Wright-Patterson Air ForceBase, near Dayton.
The Dayton Daily News reports Col. John Devillier says authorities plan to upgrade security measures, such as adding barricades and winding traffic lanes. Authorities are also considering tactical, technique and procedural changes.
Devillier says an investigation and decision on whether to pursue federal charges will probably come next week.
The man did not have any weapons. His identity will not be released until the investigation is completed.
