MagnetoSpeed's V3 chronograph is the pinnacle of chrono simplicity. No worrying about proper lighting conditions or messing with screens out on the range. Just clamp the MagnetoSpeed to your barrel or lock it to your rail with the new rail accessory, and your shooting data is stored and displayed on its remote display.
In an effort to bring the price down, MagnetoSpeed has introduced the Sporter. It has all the accuracy of its big brother but pares down some of the niceties in the name of frugality. It won't accept a spacer stack, so it only works with barrels from 1/2 inch to 1 inch in diameter. It's also a little shorter, so you'll need to be careful when using it with longer muzzle devices.
The Sporter is a simple, one-button device that scrolls through shooting data. There's no storage card, though the device does have a memory that can offload shooting data using the new $25 XFER adapter to connect the Sporter (or V3) to a smartphone where data can be displayed, saved and shared with MagnetoSpeed's upcoming iOS application.
More details will be available on MagnetoSpeed's website, but we're told the new units will retail for $189.
Also coming is a set of tapered barrel spacers for use with the V3. For $5, the tapered spacer set allows the device to align with barrels that have extreme taper.
