In response to questions from MOAA, the president vowed to continue his military rebuild while the former vice president pushed for more restrained defense spending.
The Air Force may drop Weighted Airman Promotion System, or WAPS, testing for staff sergeants and technical sergeants, and allow airmen to take a PT exam without being penalized if they fail.
“We’ve made some substantial progress. We need to build and implement what we have done,” said Rep. Mac Thornberry, ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee.
