UPDATE: Arsenal Firearms has photos and a video of this thing in action here.

The Arsenal Firearms Second Century Model 2011 is a full fuller size, double barrel .45 ACP pistol based on the Browning action Colt model 1911... sort of. They say they made the gun as a centennial tribute to the Colt 1911 and John Browning's design.

The thing brings new meaning to the term "double stack". It's more like a "double-wide". It's got a pair of triggers. Pull either and the single hammer falls on both firing pins, shooting two rounds at a time. How well does it work? Arsenal says they've fired more than 1000 rounds (in the time it takes a mere 1911 to shoot 500 rounds!) and the pistol is easier to shoot than a Desert Eagle with less recoil.

Arsenal plans to bring these to the states, though there are concerns over the pistol's NFA classification since one pull of the trigger fires multiple rounds. Arsenal employees say their interpretation of the BATF's regs lead them to think the pistol's action does not make it a machine gun. Wishful thinking.

Arsenal had two version's on display; the full size version as well as a 1/2 size, sub-caliber version.
