According to a Nov. 29 post from the official Joint Base Pearl Harbor- Hickam Facebook page, the Hawaii Department of Health and the Navy have tested the water and found no measurable quantities of fuel contaminants.
Woodrow Jones, 22, and Daniel Jones, 19, enlisted in the Navy in early 1941 and were assigned to the USS Arizona at the Pearl Harbor Navy Base in Oahu, Hawaii.
Some families of crew members are demanding the U.S. military take advantage of advances in DNA technology to identify 85 sailors and Marines from the Arizona who were buried as unknowns.
