Attorneys representing an Army lieutenant who was pepper-sprayed, struck and handcuffed during a traffic stop have filed a motion for a new trial.
The December 2020 traffic stop drew national attention and outrage after it became public in April 2021.
The trial is scheduled to begin Monday in federal court in Richmond.
As of Nov. 10, 37,377 Navy members and 9,337 Marine Corps members were still using impacted cards.
