James Parks: The only person who was born, lived, died and buried at Arlington

Once a slave for Robert E. Lee at Arlington House, James Parks was freed and became a caretaker at Arlington National Cemetery. Although Parks never served in the military, he was buried at Arlington with full military honors after he died in 1929, giving him the distinction of being the only person in history to be born, lived, died and buried on the grounds of Arlington.
