Tenzing TX 15

What: The new TX pack is a streamlined rig, well-sized for full-day trips. It offers 2,000 cubic inches of storage in eight pockets and compartments and weighs just 3 pounds. Available in either Realtree Xtra or Kryptek Highlander camouflage patterns, it has a top-loading design but incorporates zippers on each side.

Wearers can put often-used or quick-access gear in the front "shove-in" pocket, the top/lid compartment or the two mesh side pockets. A "trampoline-style" suspension system keeps it away from your back, increasing comfort and reducing sweat buildup. It's made from quiet and bur-resistant tricot fabric with 500-denier nylon and Hypalon reinforcement at high stress points.

Note: Other features include an adjustable waist belt, padded shoulder harness with a sternum strap, and four lateral compression straps. It also accepts Tenzing's 2- or 3-liter hydration bladders.

MSRP: $129.99

What: This new duffel, available in two sizes, combines the best of a waterproof "dry bag" with a travel bag for clothes and gear. It's made of 1680-denier thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU, for short) with welded seams. Key features include a roll-top closure with protective lid; adjustable, padded, removable backpack straps; a padded handle wrap; grab handles at each end; and dual top compression straps. It's ideal for hauling gear in a boat or the open bed of a pickup.

Note: The standard duffel is 20-by-13 inches, while the large is 27-by-15.

MSRP: $99.99 (standard), $129.99 (large)

Flambeau Outdoors Double Wall Series Compound Bow Case

What: One nice archery case! It'll securely support most compound bows. With the lid latched, bows can't slide around inside thanks to compression created by a foam bow tray that fits between the bow and the lower storage compartment. This customizable lower compartment houses up to 10 arrows, which can be stored with broadheads attached. Additional space houses a quiver and other accessories.

The case is impregnated with a Zerust vapor corrosion inhibitor (or VCI) insert that protects metals from moisture and rust for up to five years. The double wall construction creates a small air pocket that acts as a shock absorber.

Note: Interior dimensions are 40.62 inches long by 14.44 inches wide and 6 inches deep.

MSRP: $179.99

Online:, but like some other products in the New Gear Guide, this newbie hadn't been added to the manufacturers' online catalog as of mid-April.
