Traveling just got a whole lot cheaper for active military members, veterans and their families.

Allegiant Air announced that it will be creating the Allegiant Honors program, according to a press release. The program provides several complementary services for military families, such as allowing up to three checked bags and one carry-on bag, boarding pass printing and allowing a pet to fly in the cabin. Active military members are also eligible for priority boarding and can avoid cancellation or flight change fees if their orders change.

"All of us at Allegiant take great pride in supporting the brave men and women who serve our country every day," said Maurice Gallagher, Allegiant chairman and CEO. "The Allegiant Honors program extends our thanks by making it a little easier for active members of the military, veterans and their families to travel. We are honored to have them fly with us."

Allegiant Honors services will be added to travel itineraries upon checking in at the airport and any services paid for in advance can be refunded. Valid military identification or military dependent identification is required to receive the benefits. Additionally, dependents do not need to travel with the military member to take advantage of the program.
